Feb 5-10, Kathmandu: Nepal has won two of the four matches played in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League II Tri-Series between Nepal, Oman and USA at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur from February 5-10. Nepal had won 2 matches against USA and lost 2 matches against Oman.

1st Match : Nepal vs Oman 

Nepal won the toss and opted to bowl. The home side restricted Oman to 197 for nine from their 50 overs. Nadeem finishing unbeaten on 69. Karan KC took 4-47, and Sushan Bhari 3-14 from 10 overs of left-arm spin. 

Nepal was all out for 179 despite late heroics by Sandeep Lamichhane after Sharad Vesawkar scored 55 at the top of the order. Lamichhane’s cameo had the fans on their feet as he hit three boundaries and a six before falling for 28 off 27 balls. Likewise, Dipendra Airee, Vice-captain of the team, scored 36 runs, and Binod Bhandari scored 26 runs for Nepal. 

3rd Match : Nepal vs USA 

Nepal has defeated the United States of America by 35 runs during the ICC World Cup Cricket League Two played at TU Cricket Ground. Batting first, Nepal were bowled out for 190 in 49 overs. Binod Bhandari and Kushal Malla scored half centuries for Nepal. Binod scored 59 runs while Kushal scored 50 runs. Stevenson was the top wicket taker for the United States. 

In the second inning, Ian Holland’s fighting knock of 75(111) runs went in vein as USA were bowled out for 155 runs in 44.1 overs. Karan K.C took highest 4 wickets followed by spinner Sushan Bhari, Sandip Lamichhane and Kushal malla with respective 3, 2 and 1 wickets. 

4th Match: Nepal vs Oman 

Nepal has set a 250-run target for Oman. Gyanendra Malla made 56 runs while Paras Khadka made 38 runs and Kushal Malla contributed 35 runs off 47 balls. Aqib Ilyas took 4 wickets and Mohammad Nadeem took 3 wickets. 

Oman completed the target losing only 2 wickets in 47.2 overs. Nepal has suffered 8-wicket loss with 16 balls. Aqib Ilyas scored 109 runs including 12 fours and a six off 108 balls, while Zeeshan Maqsood knocked 68 runs including 8 fours off 79 balls. For Nepal, Sushan Bhari and Kushal Malla picked one wicket each 

6th Match : Nepal vs USA 

Batting first, USA was all out for 35 runs in 12 overs. For the USA, Marshall was the only batsman to score double figures with 16 runs in 22 overs. Sandeep Lamichhane took 6 wickets in 6 overs while Susan Bhari took 3 wickets in 3 overs. 

Nepal completed the target by losing 2 wickets in 5 overs and easily won by 8 wickets. Paras Khadka and Dipendra Singh Ari scored 20* and 15* runs respectively. Kenjige took 2 wickets for USA. Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane was declared Player of the Match.
