MCC has played T20, OD and First Class matches against Nepal
Nov 3-12, Kathmandu : Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), a prestigious English club on tour to Nepal, had won the Nepal U-19, Nepal First Class and T20 matches at the Kirtipur Cricket Ground and lost the ODIs to Nepal.
1st Match – MCC vs Nepal U19 (OD)
Nepal U-19 cricket team faced a 38-run defeat at the hands of MCC in the first match of the MCC tour of Nepal. Batting first after losing the toss, MCC lost 7 wickets in 50 overs and scored 334 runs. For MCC, Billy Will Rhodes 93 runs. For Nepal, Sagar Dhakal took 2 wickets, Ser Malla 2 wickets, Kusal Malla 1 wicket and Akash Chand 1 wicket.
Chasing the target, the U-19 team lost 9 wickets in 50 overs and added only 296 runs before losing by 38 runs. For Nepal, Hari Bahadur Chauhan top scored with 52 runs, Rit Gautam with 45, Lokesh Bam with 18, Khadak Bahadur Bohra with 26, Bishal Bikram KC with 13, Arun Ari with 30, Akash Chand with 30 and Kusal Malla with 12.
2nd Match – MCC vs Nepal XI (OD)
MCC was all out in the 40th over and scored 201 runs. For MCC, Billy Godleman scored 52 runs. For Nepal, Pawan Sarraf took 3 wickets, Lalit Rajbanshi 4 wickets, Abinas Bohra 1 wicket and Karan KC 1 wicket.
Chasing the target, Nepal lost 5 wickets in 37.1 overs and scored 202 runs to win by 3 wickets. Arif Sheikh scored 23, Dipendra Singh 23, Gyanendra Malla 10, Ishan Pandey 4, Binod Bhandari 50 * and Pawan Saraf 32 * for Nepal. Arafat took 2 wickets for MCC
3rd Match : MCC vs Nepal XI (First Class-3 Day)
MCC has defeated Nepal by 300 runs in the ‘First Class Cricket / 3 Days’ Cricket held between Nepal and MCC at TU Ground, Kirtipur. MCC were all out for 364 in the first innings. Will Rhodes 73, Tom 39, Hammolds 52, Vandersper 53, Thompson 30 and Yasser Arafat 65 were the top scorers. For Nepal, Sompal Kami took 3 wickets, Karan KC took 3 wickets, Sandeep Lamichhane took 3 wickets and Sharad Bheshavkar took 2 wickets.
In the first innings, Nepal was all out for 153 runs in 45 overs and MCC took the lead with 211 runs. Sompal Kami scored 26, Binod Bhandari 36 and Sandeep Lamichhane 39* for Nepal. For MCC, Arafat took 3 wickets, Thompson took 3 wickets.
4th Match – MCC vs Nepal XI (T20)
MCC has defeated Nepal by 113 runs in the fourth match. MCC won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 189 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Hammond scored 29, Godleman 54, Ed Young 42. For Nepal, Rashid Khan took 3 wickets.
Chasing the target, Nepal were bowled out for 76 in 13.1 overs and lost by 124 runs. Rashid Khan scored 18, Sandeep Jora 16 for Nepal.
