Nepali national men’s cricket team has won a bronze medal in the 13th South Asian Games

Dec 2-10, Kathmandu – The Nepali national cricket men’s cricket team has won a bronze medal in the men’s cricket event at the 13th South Asian Games held at the TU Ground in Kirtipur. 

1st Match : Nepal vs Srilanka U23 

Nepal national men’s cricket team has lost by 6 wickets against Srilanka U-23. Batting first, Nepal lost 5 wickets in 20 overs and scored 172 runs. For Nepal, Gyanendra Malla scored 21 off 20 balls, Aarif Sheikh scored 19 off 15 balls and Binod Bhandari scored 21 off 23 balls. Dipendra Singh Airee scored 72 * off 44 balls while Pawan Sarraf scored 22 off 13 balls. For Srilanka, P Mendis took 2 wickets. 

Chasing the target, Sri Lanka lost 4 wickets in 19.1 overs and scored 175 runs to win by 6 wickets. Samu Assam scored 72 * off 44 balls. For Nepal, Pawan Sarraf took 2 wickets. 

2nd Match : Nepal vs Bhutan 

Batting first after losing the toss, Nepal added 236 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Gyanendra Malla has scored 107 runs in 55 balls for Nepal. Similarly, Paras Khadka scored 57 off 28 balls, Dipendra Singh Airee scored 45 * off 27 balls. K Dorji has taken 2 wickets for Bhutan. 

Chasing the target, Bhutan lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and lost by 141 runs after being stopped at 95 runs. R Dorjee scored 27 off 23 balls and S Tobge scored 15 off 23 balls. For Nepal, Paras Khadka took 2 wickets, Karan KC 1 wicket, Lalit Rajbanshi 1 wicket and Pawan Sarraf 1 wicket. 

3rd Match : Nepal vs Maldives 

Batting first, Nepal lost 7 wickets in 20 overs and scored 163 runs. Gyanendra Malla scored 19 runs and Arif Sheikh scored 17 runs for Nepal. Similarly, Dipendra Singh Airee scored 40 runs while Karan KC scored 40 * off 16 balls. 

Chasing the target, Maldives lost 8 wickets in 20 overs and scored only 79 runs before losing by 84 runs. Mohammad Azam scored 17* off 17 balls. For Nepal, Sushan Bhari took 2 wickets and Lalit Rajbanshi took 2 wickets. 

4th Match : Nepal vs Maldives (Bronze Medal Match) 

Batting first, Maldives scored 94 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Mohammad Rizwan scored 17 off 18 balls and Lim Safig scored 18 runs. For Nepal, Lalit Rajbanshi took 3 wickets for 6 runs in 4 overs and Susan Bhari took 2 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs. 

Following the target, Nepal completed the target losing 5 wickets in 16.1 overs. Gyanendra scored 22 runs off 24 balls while Aarif scored 32 runs off 28 balls. For Maldives, Omar Adam took 3 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs.
