Nepal Returns to ICC Men’s T20 World Cup After a Decade

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is thrilled to announce that Nepal is set to lock horns with the Netherlands in their first match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. This highly anticipated match will take place at 9:15 pm Nepali time at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas, USA.

Nepal, placed in Group D alongside the Netherlands, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and South Africa, aims to advance to the Super Eight. A victory in the first match is crucial for our national team to keep their hopes alive.

The Nepali squad, led by Captain Rohit Paudel, includes talented players such as Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Anil Kumar Sah, Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Malla, Lalit Rajbansi, Karan KC, Gulsan Jha, Sompal Kami, Pratik GC, Sandeep Jora, Abhinas Bohara, Sagar Dhakal, and Kamal Singh Airee.

This marks Nepal’s return to the World Cup after 3,729 days, their last appearance being against Afghanistan in 2014. After a decade-long wait and a victorious qualifying campaign against the UAE, Nepal is back on the world stage, eager to make a mark.

With both Nepal and the Netherlands familiar foes in T20Is, the match promises to be a thrilling encounter. The teams’ head-to-head record is nearly even, making this clash even more exciting. As Nepal competes against higher-ranked teams in their group, this opening game is a must-win.

Join us in supporting our team as they embark on this momentous journey. Let’s rally behind Nepal and cheer for a victorious start in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024!
