Nepal women’s cricket team wins bronze medal in 13th South Asian Games

Dec 2-10, Nepal – Nepal National Women’s Cricket Team has won a bronze medal in the 13th South Asian Games held at Pokhara Stadium, Pokhara. 

1st Match : Nepal W vs Maldives W 

Nepal National Women’s Cricket Team has won the first match of the 13th South Asian Games against Maldives by 10 wickets. Batting first, Maldives were bowled out for 16 in 10.1 overs Anjali Chand has taken 6 wickets for Nepal in 2.1 overs. 

Chasing the target, Nepal scored 17 runs in 0.5 overs without losing a wicket and easily won by 10 wickets. Kajal Shrestha scored 13* off 5 balls. 

2nd Match : Nepal W vs Bangladesh W 

Batting first, Nepal lost 10 wickets in 19.2 overs and scored 50 runs. Sonu Khadka scored 12 off 19 balls, Rubina Chhetri scored 13 off 29 balls and Indu Verma scored 10 off 20 balls. For Bangladesh, Rabia Khan took 4 wickets. 

Chasing the target, Bangladesh scored 51 runs in 7.4 overs without losing a wicket and easily won by 10 wickets. Ayesha Rahman scored 26* off 22 balls, while Murshid Khatun scored 23 * off 24 balls. 

3rd Match : Nepal W vs Srilanka W 

Batting first, Srilanka scored 118 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. El Apsara scored 37 off 27 balls. Saraswati Kumari and Sonu Khadka shared 2/2 wickets each for Nepal. 

Chasing the target, Nepal lost 9 wickets in 20 overs and scored only 77 runs before losing by 41 runs. Rubina Chhetri scored 19, Apsari Begum 11, Karuna Bhandari 12, Kavita Kumar 13 *. For Sri Lanka, S Nisansala took 3 wicket. 

4th Match : Nepal W vs Maldives W (Bronze Medal Match) 

Batting first, Maldives were bowled out for 8 in 11.3 overs. Maldives’ 9 batsmen were out for 0 runs. For Nepal, Anjali Chand took 4 wickets for 1 run with 3 maidens in 4 overs, Sarita Magar and Rubina Chhetri took 2/2 wickets each, Suman Khatiwada and Karuna Bhandari took 1/1 wickets. Chasing the target, Nepal scored 9 runs in 1.1 overs without losing a wicket and easily won by 10 wickets.
