Reflecting on Nepal’s T20 World Cup Journey

The Cricket Association of Nepal is proud to reflect on our spirited campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024, where our team showed remarkable dedication and fight on the global stage. The performance Team Nepal delivered in the return to the World Cup after ten years has not only inspired our nation but also earned respect in the international cricketing community.

As we reflect on this campaign, we are filled with immense pride and optimism. The lessons learned and the experiences gained from this tournament will undoubtedly serve as a catalyst for the future development of cricket in Nepal. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our fans, whose unwavering support fueled our players’ passion and drive.

“Every match we played was a low-scoring thriller and we fought well but unfortunately we couldn’t cross the line. I think we kind of failed as a batting unit but our bowlers were outstanding throughout the tournament. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our fans for showing up in huge numbers and providing massive support, even when we were playing overseas”, said captain Rohit Paudel.

“The conditions were challenging, and we were aware of that, which is why we arrived a month early for preparation. There’s no doubt that we should have won both games against the Test-playing nations and performed better with the bat. While we need to put in a lot of work on our batting, the efforts and unity shown by our team deserve appreciation,” reflected Nandan Phadnis, the consultant coach.
